Deep tissue Massage helps the oblique muscles, which run around the front and sides of the mid-torso part of the body. Swedish massage vs. Deep Tissue Massage
If you’ve ever had a Swedish massage, which uses long strokes to work along the lines of muscles, you’ll notice that a deep tissue massage is very different.
Deep tissue massages are usually “cross-grain,” meaning they work against the muscles rather than with them to alleviate aches and pains. As a consequence, when opposed to regular “relaxation massages,” this may be a little more intense.
Deep tissue massages, on the other hand, use a lot of pressure, which is beneficial. It offers a lot of the advantages that therapeutic massage has to offer.
Deep tissue massages are often slower and longer than other types of massages, usually lasting around 1.5 hours to allow the body’s tissues to warm up and relax.
